Club Schedules

What happened here?

For over 10 years, this page provided local club schedule information. The daily view helped many local music fans answer the question "Where can I go tonight to see a good local band?" I believe this was a fairly unique and useful service, but several factors have caused me to stop offering this information:

The information previously provided here is available on the clubs' web sites. This wasn't the case in the mid-1990s, when my primary source of information was Pennsylvania Musician magazine. These days, the clubs' web sites are truly the best source of information. They are far more up-to-date than this site could possibly be.
This site was originally focused on the Harrisburg area, where I lived at the time. But I have lived in the Philadelphia area since 1999, and it has become difficult to balance the club schedules between the two areas. I've also found myself largely ignoring the northern and western regions of PA, which also offer lots of great music!
A major time commitment was required each month to compile the club schedule information. As my priorities in life have changed, I've found it increasingly difficult to find the time to do this.

Fear not! Rockinpa.com isn't going anywhere, and I fully intend to use some of the time saved entering monthly club schedule information to improve the site in other ways. The first change should be immediately noticeable: This page now provides region-by-region information on PA venues that feature live music, including direct links to the venues' schedule pages. I hope you find this useful. Expect new venues to be added to this list in the coming weeks, and feel free to email me if your venue is missing.

If you live in the Harrisburg, Lancaster or York areas and would like a daily list of club schedules, you may want to check out Fly Magazine Online, which still provides that information.
